The Science of HOPE
Helping organizations move from good intentions to meaningful action—and from learning to implementation.
This is where Nikki's Science of HOPE credential meets her decades of program leadership. She doesn't just teach the Science of HOPE—she helps organizations ask the practical question: "What does this actually change about the way we do our work?" And, importantly, why does it matter?
The Science of HOPE—Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences—is a movement focused on advancing health and well-being for children, families, and communities. Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) support healthy child development and can lessen the lifelong impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). By creating environments where children experience connection, safety, belonging, and support, PCEs help build resilience and lay the foundation for healthy adulthood.
The HOPE framework centers on key types of Positive Childhood Experiences and provides a practical way for parents and caregivers, professionals, agencies, and communities to promote health and well-being for children and families. It offers a shared framework and language for understanding what helps children and families thrive—and for turning that understanding into meaningful practice.
The benefits extend beyond the people organizations serve. Implementing HOPE-informed practices can also support staff well-being and help prevent burnout. The goal is to help organizations develop a common understanding and language around HOPE, then translate that knowledge into strategies that can be integrated into programs, leadership, and everyday community practice.
Drawing on more than three decades of executive, clinical, educational, and community leadership experience, Nikki brings a practical, people-centered approach to organizational strategy, program development, leadership development, and collaboration. As a Certified Science of HOPE Champion, she helps organizations explore how the Science of HOPE can move beyond theory and become part of how they lead, serve, and create meaningful change.
“Organizations can create the conditions in which people and communities are more able to recognize possibility, build on strengths, and move toward a more HOPEful future.”
Let's work together.
